“Valley tenants/homeowners push for tougher bed bug laws” – KPHO/KTVK, 15 April 2015. Residents of a condo in Scottsdale expressed their hopes for tougher bed bug laws after being plagued with the insects. One resident discovered bed bugs in her home, only to discover that a resident downstairs from her had been struggling with bed bugs for months. Subsequent investigation found that Arizona laws don’t require property owners to notify tenants about sightings of bed bugs, even when the infestations occur directly next door. A real estate lawyer in the area suggested that tenants have bed bug clauses inserted into their lease agreements, requiring them to be notified about nearby bed bug outbreaks.
